For more than twenty years, Dr. Van Horn has built her work around a simple idea. Veterinary medicine is at its best when it blends clear communication, calm decision making, and a genuine respect for the bond between animals and their families. She entered the field in 2001, began practicing in 2008, and has cared for the Signal Mountain community since 2011. Over that time, she has become the steady presence clients trust when they want thoughtful guidance rather than rushed opinions.
Her leadership sets the tone for Wilder. She believes clients deserve time to understand their options and animals deserve care that is intentional, not reactive. She brings a steady hand to complex cases and a straightforward style that helps owners feel informed and supported. Inside the clinic, she is the medical director, operations hub, and often the one solving whatever IT problem pops up. She keeps the practice running smoothly so her team can focus fully on the animals in their care.
Outside the clinic, she stays connected to the things that restore her. She performs in operas, musical theater productions, and orchestras, and she and her family maintain a small farm that always seems to have one more animal joining the mix. She spends her free time with her husband and two children, and she brings that same sense of grounded joy into the exam room each day.

"Good veterinary care starts with listening."
“When we take the time to understand an animal and the family who loves them, better medicine follows naturally.”
